Our Technology
Vacuum Freeze-Drying (VFD) is a path breaking, proven and leading food preservation technology, with the following attributes:
- VFD removes the water content from food under cold vacuum conditions, technically termed as ‘sublimation’ or ‘lyophilization’.
- VFD freezes and de-hydrates food at extremely low temperatures and arrests most of the deterioration and microbiological reactions in food, resulting into a final product of excellent quality.
- VFD ensures excellent stability and convenient reconstitution when such food products are placed in water (rehydrated).
- VFD process is being widely used for preserving a number of food products, including vegetables, fruits and herbs without altering food quality.
- VFD increases the shelf life of food products while retaining all nutrition and goodness in such foods, without adding any preservatives. VFD also maintains color, flavor and texture of de-hydrated food products, often indistinguishable from the original product.
